+ Does the weight of the door affect whether StepNpull® will work or not?

The weight of the door is not a factor but rather the amount of resistance the door closer provides. The door closer is the device mounted at the top of the door and is responsible for controlling how much effort is required to open the door. If an interior door closer resistance is adjusted to 5 pounds or less, then the user will be able to easily open the door with their foot using StepNpull®. If, however, an excessive amount of effort is required to open the door, the door closer resistance should be reduced to the minimum amount practical.

+ How do I use the StepNpull®?

People are accustomed to opening a door with their hands so the first couple of times may feel a bit awkward. Most users adapt quickly and then use the StepNpull® every time.

1. As you approach the door, position your body as though you were going to use the door handle.
2. If you would use your left hand to pull the door handle then the left foot will be used. If you would use your right hand to pull the door handle then the right foot will be used.
3. Place your foot on the top of the StepNpull® , press down just enough to gain traction.
4. Pull your foot and leg back as though you were taking a step. Simply step and pull.
5. Typically enough door momentum will be gained to actually swing the door open and out of your way.
6. Depending on your shoe type, you may want to try different shoe angles or positions in order to find the one that yields the most grip.

Swinging door and gate surfaces within 255mm (10 inches) of the finish floor or ground measured vertically shall have a smooth surface on the push side extending the full width of the door or gate. Parts creating horizontal or vertical joints in these surfaces shall be within 1.6mm (1/16 inch) of the same plane as the other. Cavities created by added kick plates shall be capped. The 255 mm (10 inch) of vertically smooth surface is on the push side of the door not the pull side. Door opener is installed on the pull side of the door.

+ Will this be easy to use? Will I lose my balance while using the StepNpull®?
